Portrayal

Mimori (みもり, Mimori, Mimori ^?) is a young girl whose body has been taken over by a Nokker. She is the second Nokker-infested person Fushi meets and the first one he fights.

Appearance

Mimori usually wears a white blouse and a skirt with suspenders. Her black hair just about covers her earlobes and is brighter in colour at the tips. She also has slightly frayed bangs.

Before her body is taken over by a Nokker, she wears loose white socks and lace-up sneakers. Hirotoshi later buys her black shoes with a strap instead of laces.

Personality

Mimori is a shy and sensitive young girl that rarely talks, and when she does, she does so very quietly and often times is unable to look the person she's talking to in the eye. She barely smiles and is rather gloomy in general.

Background

When Mimori's mother decided to marry Hirotoshi's father, she had to switch schools. Her uniform makes her stand out among her new classmates and thus, she hasn't been able to make any friends at school.

Mimori - or rather the Nokker controlling her - can regenerate lost limbs and heal any wounds, both on the outside and inside of the body.

Plot

Mimori is introduced as a shy girl that finds it hard to speak up, instead mumbling in a low voice. She spends most of her time alone in her room and no one seems to pay much mind to her, except for Hirotoshi, who watches her day in day out. He tries to cheer her up and shows that he has a caring side which is a stark contrast to the way he acts around his father and step-mother.

One day, while their parents are on a trip, Hirotoshi discovers that Mimori's school is having a parents day. He decides to go instead, worried that she might feel "abandoned" otherwise.

At school, however, Mimori is nowhere to be found. Hirotoshi decides to go look for her. As he walks down the corridors, something flies past the window: Mimori. Hirotoshi runs outside and is met by a puddle of blood splattered across the pathway. He picks up her shoes, trembling as he realizes she must be dead, when suddenly an unharmed Mimori appears behind him.

It's later revealed that Mimori wanted to read out an essay at the parents day. The essay is about her family or rather about how she wanted it to be: a loving mother and father that care greatly for their daughter. With this, she wanted to make her otherwise negligent mother think about her. It's also revealed that, because Mimori felt unloved, she let the Nokker "dwelling" inside her take over. Whenever her mother was in a bad mood, it traded places with her and kept its memories of whatever happened during that time separated from Mimori's memories. Because it "felt sorry" for her, the Nokker stayed insider her body and pretended to be her, essentially living a much happier life than Mimori ever could while Mimori herself was freed from her unhappy existence.

At first, she doesn't want to return to her body, but after seeing Hirotoshi risk his life to defeat the Nokker, she changes her mind.

As of Chapter 138, Mimori's spirit has returned to its vessel.

Battles

• Chapter 134/Chapter 135: Mimori attacks Fushi on the roof of the school with a motorized lawn-cutting device. While she is able to reproduce the body parts she loses, Fushi is much quicker than her and easily renders her immobile and defenseless.

Hirotoshi is Mimori's step-brother. He cares deeply for her because he's always wanted a little sister.
